Triage System

Further to our post earlier this week we have this morning launched our GP lead triage system at our sites in Tring (Rothschild House and The New Surgery) and Pitstone (Little Rothschild Surgery).
We wanted to reassure patients who may have experienced slightly longer wait times this morning that we do believe these will improve over the coming days, as staff and patients become more familiar with the processes.
The GP triage system is replacing our previous method of allocating our limited number of on the day urgent appointments, all of which were previously released at 8am.
When you contact these sites you will now be asked a series of questions which will then allow the GP to make an informed decision as to the best course of action.
A member of staff will contact you with the doctors recommendation which may result in you being offered an on the day telephone or face to face appointment, a routine appointment with your named GP for continuity of care or an appointment with an allied health processional such as a musculoskeletal specialist.
This new system will also reduce call wait times as patients can call up until 6pm and still be triaged.
Just to reiterate this is for urgent appointments only. Routine appointments will still be booked as normal.
Thank you!
